Grisette Mid Day Ale, was a French farm beverage popular in the 18th century, with the working farmers and miners who wore grey to hide the dirt. Made with Hops, French yeast, honey, barley malt and spices, it provided a thirst-quenching mid-day nourishment to carry them through the rest of their working day.
Hop Scotch Lager is based on a recipe from 19th century Scotland made by the Scottish women on the farm. It contained no alcohol as it was a family beverage served to adults and children alike. The men would sneak a shot of good Scotch Whisky into the glass when the family was not looking.
Clear Valley Hops a family owned business on a 74-acre farm located at the base of the Blue Mountains in Nottawa, Ontario, just 2 minutes outside Collingwood. They currently have over 18 varieties of hops, fed by the waters of the Pretty River. The terroir of Georgian Bay comes through in the unique flavours of their hops. A Canadian hop grower!
